We're looking for a Specialty Candy Maker & Chocolatier to join our fast-growing team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys creating quality products, takes pride in their work, and pays attention to the little details that make handmade candy special. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with the company as we continue to expand. What You'll Do As part of our candy-making team, you'll help produce many of the products our customers have come to know and love, including: Hand-dipping and hand-coating chocolates and confections Operating chocolate tempering and enrobing equipment Making fresh caramel and other candy fillings from established recipes Producing our signature caramel popcorn and specialty popcorn varieties Measuring, mixing, cooking, cutting, dipping, and finishing candy products Following established Wertz recipes and production standards to ensure consistency Assisting with the development and production of new and seasonal products Packaging finished candies and treats for our retail store and other orders Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary candy kitchen Properly handling and storing ingredients and finished products Following all food-safety, sanitation, and allergen-handling procedures Assisting with increased production during busy seasons, especially around the holidays Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Dependable and self-motivated Detail-oriented and committed to producing a consistent, high-quality product Creative and interested in learning the art of candy and chocolate making Comfortable working with their hands and performing repetitive production tasks Able to follow recipes and instructions precisely Comfortable measuring ingredients and performing basic recipe calculations Able to work efficiently in a busy, productive environment , particularly during holiday production A team player with a positive attitude who enjoys working with others Conscious of cleanliness, sanitation, food safety, and allergen awareness Willing to learn traditional methods while also contributing new ideas Interested in growing with a company that values its employees Experience Previous experience in candy making, chocolate work, baking, pastry, food production, or a commercial kitchen is a plus. Experience with chocolate tempering, enrobing equipment, caramel production, or confectionery work is especially valuable. However, we also recognize that the right person can be taught.
