Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Seafood Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Seafood Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing, packaging, and displaying seafood products while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. This role requires strong culinary skills, particularly in food preparation and handling, as well as the ability to engage with customers effectively. Duties Prepare and package a variety of seafood products according to established guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the seafood display area, ensuring that all products are fresh and appealing. Assist customers with their seafood selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and answering questions regarding preparation methods. Adhere to all food safety regulations and standards during the handling and storage of seafood. Utilize proper knife skills for cutting and filleting fish and other seafood items. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely replenishment of seafood products as needed. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to maintain stock. Qualifications Previous experience in food preparation or working within the food industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Proficient in meat cutting techniques and culinary skills related to seafood preparation. Ability to handle knives safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
