About the Role We are looking for a Production & Kitchen Lead to take ownership of our day-to-day kitchen and production operations. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with food, takes pride in doing things correctly, and can balance production efficiency with meticulous attention to food safety, quality, and detail. This position will also play an exciting role in new recipe development & pairing suggestions, documentation, and a side role in photo shoots and marketing. Key Production Responsibilities Lead and participate in weekly production of our infused honey products. Follow established recipes, formulas, SOPs, and production procedures to ensure product consistency. Prepare ingredients and production equipment for each batch. Oversee infusion, mixing, filling, bottling, labeling, and packaging processes. Monitor production quantities, yields, weights, and finished product quality. Maintain accurate batch and production records. Ensure production is completed efficiently and on schedule. Adjust production priorities as volumes increase during seasonal and peak periods. Identify production issues and recommend improvements to processes and workflow. Help develop and improve SOPs and production procedures as the company grows. Food Safety & Sanitation Take day-to-day ownership of food-safety practices within the kitchen. Ensure all employees follow established food-safety and sanitation procedures. Maintain cleaning and sanitation schedules and required records. Ensure handling, storage, and preparation of ingredients and finished products. Monitor and document required food-safety controls. Maintain an organized, clean, and inspection-ready production environment. Identify potential food-safety issues and take appropriate corrective action. Stay current with company food-safety procedures and applicable requirements. Help coordinate food-safety training and ensure kitchen personnel are properly trained. Labeling & Quality Control Ensure products are labeled correctly and according to approved specifications. Verify labels, lot/batch information, dates, weights, and packaging before products leave the kitchen. Perform routine quality checks during production and bottling. Ensure finished products meet established quality and appearance standards. Maintain accurate documentation and traceability for production batches. Communicate any quality or compliance concerns promptly. Kitchen Operations Maintain the commercial kitchen in a clean, organized, safe, and production-ready condition. Ensure equipment is properly operated, cleaned, and maintained. Monitor kitchen supplies, ingredients, packaging, and production materials. Communicate purchasing and replenishment needs. Help coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs when needed. Organize production areas for efficient workflow. Minimize product waste and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Team Leadership Provide day-to-day direction to the kitchen production team. Train team members on production procedures, SOPs, sanitation, and food-safety practices. Lead by example and maintain high standards for quality, cleanliness, and professionalism. Help coordinate staffing and workflow around production schedules and seasonal demand. Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented kitchen environment. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is reliable, organized, hands-on, detail-oriented, comfortable taking ownership and yet a small team player. Required Experience working in a commercial kitchen, food production facility, bakery, CPG, or similar food manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of food-safety and sanitation practices. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to follow recipes, formulas, SOPs, and written procedures accurately. Ability to maintain accurate production and food-safety records within a Google Docs and excell spreadsheet format. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within established procedures. Ability to lead and work effectively with a small team. Comfortable performing physical, hands-on production work. Ability to lift 50lbs and move ingredients, packaging, and finished product as required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during periods of increased production. Preferred Experience in CPG or packaged-food production. Experience with batching, filling, bottling, labeling, or other food-production equipment. Experience with food-safety programs, inspections, HACCP, GMPs, or similar systems. Experience maintaining production records and lot/batch traceability. Previous supervisory or lead experience. Experience working with honey, sauces, beverages, condiments, or other similar food products. What Success Looks Like In this role, success means: Production runs smoothly and consistently each week. Products are produced according to established specifications. Food-safety and sanitation standards are consistently maintained. Batch, production, and compliance records are accurate and complete. Labels and finished products are correct before they leave the kitchen. The kitchen is organized, clean, safe, and ready for production. Production stays on schedule, including during seasonal increases in volume. Team members understand and consistently follow procedures. We continuously find ways to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency.
