Midwest Star Group is hiring a full-time Diesel Mechanic / Mobile Service Mechanic based in Roberts, Wisconsin . This position combines shop-based fleet maintenance and repair with mobile service calls. You will work on trucks, trailers, towing and recovery equipment, and service vehicles, and respond to assigned breakdown calls when repairs are needed in the field. What You'll Do Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered trucks, trailers, service vehicles, and towing and recovery equipment. Troubleshoot engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, drivetrains, hydraulics, electrical systems, cooling systems, and air systems. Perform preventive maintenance, including oil and filter changes, fluid checks, lubrication, brake inspections, and vehicle inspections. Respond to assigned mobile service calls, diagnose breakdowns, and complete repairs that can be performed safely in the field. Determine when a vehicle requires additional service at a shop. Communicate repair findings, safety concerns, parts needs, and service status to customers, dispatch, drivers, and management. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and completed work. Inspect and maintain assigned service vehicles, tools, and equipment. Follow company procedures and shop and roadside safety practices. Schedule This is a full-time position based in Roberts. The schedule may vary based on shop needs and assigned mobile service calls. Diesel mechanic experience required; medium-duty or heavy-duty truck experience preferred. Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and complete quality repairs with limited supervision. Knowledge of diesel engines, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, suspension, and drivetrain components. Experience with fleet maintenance, towing equipment, trailers, or mobile service is a plus. Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus. Must have basic personal tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to perform repairs in a shop and outdoors in Wisconsin weather. Strong attention to safety, dependable attendance, and clear communication with customers and coworkers.
