Job Description

A bus aide assists the school bus driver in providing safe transportation of students as they participate in the district's regular and extra-curricular activities.
Qualifications:
High School or equivalent preferred. Must be in good health and able to lift 40 pounds. Must possess a current First Aid/CPR certificate. Able to pass physical, background, and drug test(s) as required. Must be punctual and dependable. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and staff. Must possess or have the ability to obtain an
AZ DPS IVP
Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Reports to:
Transportation Director and Transportation Secretary Performance Responsibilities:
Rides the school bus with students both to and from school, according to schedule established by the Transportation Director and/or Transportation Secretary. Maintains student daily attendance roster Assists students with boarding and departing the bus, and may accompany them to their classroom. Walks up and down the aisle to observe, correct and/or report on student behavior. Writes up and maintains conduct notices. Assures that students obey bus rules. Assists driver with maintaining bus cleanliness. Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with district dress code. Reports any problems to the driver and Transportation Secretary. Assists driver with each student on the bus in case of emergency or for emergency exercise drills. Attends and participates in all transportation meetings and drills. Performs other related duties as required.
Terms of Employment:
10 months. Part-time. Salary established by the Governing Board policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
