Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract This opportunity seeks two dedicated Bus Aides to support students during transportation for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year, with a strong possibility of renewal. These positions involve providing one-on-one or two-on-one assistance to students requiring special attention while traveling to and from school.
Position Details:
Schedule:
3 hours per day, totaling 15 hours per week
Hours:
Approximately 90 minutes in the morning and 90 minutes in the afternoon Time frame: Morning shifts between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM; afternoon shifts between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM, depending on the assigned site Contract duration: Immediate start through May 29, 2026, with Extended School Year (ESY) and 2026-2027 school year opportunities available
Caseload:
1:1 or 2:1 student support on the bus
Responsibilities:
Accompany students on bus rides to ensure their safety and comfort Assist bus driver by supporting student needs during pick-up and drop-off routines Utilize strong verbal de-escalation techniques to manage behavioral challenges Provide compassionate care tailored to students with special needs Prior experience riding the bus with assigned students is preferred
Qualifications:
Experience working with special needs children in a paraprofessional or similar role Verbal de-escalation skills and ability to respond calmly in challenging situations Certification as a Paraprofessional or a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) welcomed Reliable, patient, and attentive to the physical and emotional needs of students
Location:
Based in Glendale, CA, with routes covering Seattle, WA, and nearby communities
