Different by design, West Oaks offers a Christian environment, challenging curriculum, free transportation, championship sports, a trades program, and much more School Bus Monitor - Job Description Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bus Monitor to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of students during their transportation to and from school. This role is especially vital for supporting students with special needs and maintaining a secure, respectful environment on the bus. Key Responsibilities Promote and enforce bus safety protocols among all students. Monitor and manage student behavior using positive reinforcement and conflict resolution strategies. Provide a caring and supportive presence, especially for students requiring additional assistance. Collaborate closely with the bus driver and school staff to foster a positive, classroom-like atmosphere. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel regarding any concerns or incidents. Administer basic first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies. Maintain accurate records of incidents and student behavior during transit. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Bus Monitor or in a similar role. Background in childcare, education, or working with students with special needs. Familiarity with student transportation procedures and safety regulations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Basic first aid certification is a plus. Why Join Us?
