Job Description
Bus Assistant (with potential to be day-to-day sub)
Duties:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during bus rides to and from school
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus in an orderly manner
- Maintain discipline and enforce bus rules to ensure a safe and respectful environment
- Communicate with the bus driver and school staff regarding any issues or concerns
- Provide support to students with special needs, including assisting with seatbelts, wheelchairs, or other accommodations
- Educate students on proper bus behavior and safety procedures
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
- Patience and understanding when working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Ability to enforce rules and maintain discipline while fostering a positive environment
