OACAC Head Start provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, family support, and disability services to children ages birth through five and their families. Our team is committed to preparing children for success in school and life while building strong partnerships with families and the communities we serve. Position Overview OACAC Head Start is seeking motivated team members for the position of Bus Aide. The Bus Aide plays an important role in ensuring children have a safe, positive, and engaging transportation experience each day. Working alongside the Bus Driver, this position helps children safely board, ride, and exit the bus while creating a welcoming environment through songs, stories, fingerplays, and positive interactions. Part Time Key Responsibilities Ensure children are safely secured in approved child restraint systems during transportation Assist children with boarding and exiting the bus safely Monitor children's behavior and reinforce bus safety rules Provide age-appropriate engagement through songs, fingerplays, stories, and positive conversation Assist the Bus Driver during emergency situations and evacuation drills Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe bus environment Communicate effectively with children, families, and staff Perform additional duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Ability to communicate effectively with adults and children Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to work with young children in a safe and supportive manner Preferred Qualifications Experience working with young children Experience in a school, childcare, or transportation setting Required Skills and Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build positive relationships with children and families Ability to remain calm during emergencies Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to work collaboratively with transportation and center staff Commitment to maintaining a safe and positive environment for children Compensation Starting pay: $16.22 per hour Benefits Employer-Paid Health Insurance Option (if benefit eligible)Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Retirement Plan Paid Time Off Paid Sick Leave Paid Holidays Paid Training Opportunities Family-Friendly Work Environment Positive Team Culture Additional Information Application Deadline:
