Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Bus Monitor. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their transportation to and from school. The Bus Monitor will work closely with bus drivers and school staff to provide a secure and positive environment for all passengers. Responsibilities Supervise and assist students while boarding and disembarking the bus to ensure their safety. Maintain order on the bus by enforcing rules and guidelines for appropriate behavior. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding any concerns or incidents. Assist students with special needs or disabilities, ensuring they receive the support necessary for a comfortable journey. Monitor and report any safety hazards or issues to the bus driver and transportation department. Conduct regular checks of the bus interior and exterior to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met. Participate in training sessions and meetings as required to enhance skills and knowledge related to student transportation. Collaborate with the transportation team to develop and implement strategies for improving student safety and behavior on the bus. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working with children in a school or transportation setting is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff. Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations. Basic knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures related to student transportation. Must pass a background check and any required drug screenings. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons. Physical ability to assist students as needed, including lifting or helping with mobility devices.
