| $24/HOUR YMCA Expanded Learning Looking for a part-time job that's active, meaningful, and fun? YMCA Expanded Learning is hiring Afterschool Group Leaders to lead elementary and middle school students through games, enrichment, creative projects, academic support, and more. You'll have your own group of students, build real relationships, and help create an afterschool experience they actually look forward to. At the same time, you'll gain hands-on experience in leadership, education, youth development, communication, and team management. Bring the energy, consistency, and willingness to learn. WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO

As a Group Leader, you'll take responsibility for a group of approximately 15-20 students and guide them through their afternoon. On any given day, you might: Lead sports, games, team challenges, art, STEM, or other enrichment activities Help students with homework and academic activities Create activities based on your students' interests Build relationships and help students feel welcomed and included Set clear expectations and help students work through challenges Track attendance and actively supervise your group Work with your site team to keep the program organized, safe, and engaging Think mentor, activity leader, coach, homework helper, and positive role model all rolled into one. This isn't a job where you stand on the sidelines. You'll be in it with your students.

Experience working with youth is great, but your reliability, attitude, and willingness to grow matter just as much.

WHAT YOU NEED TO QUALIFY

You must: Be at least 18 years old Have completed 48 college semester units OR pass an Instructional Aide Exam Successfully clear required DOJ/FBI background checks Complete CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within 30 days of hire Don't have 48 college units? That doesn't automatically disqualify you. You may qualify by passing an Instructional Aide Exam , and we'll provide information to help you through that process.

STUDENTS COUNT ON YOU

Working with young people is fun, active, and rewarding—but it's also a responsibility. Students need adults who are present, engaged, and dependable. Showing up on time, actively supervising your group, following safety procedures, and communicating with your team are essential parts of the job. You don't have to be perfect. But you do need to be someone your students and teammates can count on.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is an active position that includes indoor and outdoor programming, games, transitions, setup, cleanup, and student supervision. Team members must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods Frequently bend and move throughout the program Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds Clearly monitor students indoors and outdoors Move quickly when responding to safety concerns or emergencies Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
