Job Description

The CSD is recognized as the premier park, recreation, and local community services organization with a passion for providing excellent services and facilities and protecting the quality of life and environment of the community. The mission of the Recreation Division is to provide fun, safe, educational, and positive recreation opportunities that work to connect and enrich the community and create everlasting memories. We are seeking an enthusiastic, positive, and passionate staff member to support our team as a full time Recreation Coordinator , with a focus in Youth Services . The first review of applications will be on August 20, 2026. The District reserves the right to close the recruitment at any time or at the time the position is filled. Accepts responsibility for organizing, implementing and coordinates the activities of one or more District recreation programs, such as youth development, summer camp, day camp, after school, preschool, teen, sports, senior center, and volunteer programs and special events. Receives and responds to public inquiries about program offerings; promotes public awareness of available recreation services; ensures excellent customer service is provided to the public. Leads and oversees the work of recreation staff and/or volunteers; recommends disciplinary actions to Recreation Supervisors as needed; prepares employee/volunteer schedules; verifies and checks staff/volunteer timecards; submits timecards to Recreation Supervisor or appropriate personnel. Plans program content on a monthly/periodic basis; prepares monthly calendars listing program activities and themes; reviews plans and calendars with a Recreation Supervisor for approval; may purchase necessary supplies with authorization; identifies and schedules site locations and needed equipment; prepares and maintains program and event schedules; sets up for and cleans up after all program activities. Researches new program ideas; identifies and sources staffing and materials needed for program implementation. Develops, coordinates and implements one or more areas of assigned recreation programs; oversees classes, activities, and programs for participants, staff and volunteers; may instruct special classes and staff/volunteer training. Monitors and directs program activities; handles discipline needs; completes accident and incident reports and follows up with parents when necessary; speaks with parents regarding their concerns and complaints; takes roll call periodically throughout the day; tallies participants hourly attendance in programs; tracks daily attendance; sort participant timecards into folders. As assigned, works with the public to assist them in registering classes and events; facilitates the scheduling and payment process. Handles disciplinary issues with program participants and through interactions with parents; when unable to resolve issue, refers to Recreation Supervisor. Maintains a variety of records and reports on program activities, attendance, supplies and other pertinent information. May assist the Recreation Supervisor in creating and developing recreation program components including manuals, guidelines and procedures. Conducts research regarding assigned areas; drafts reports and other written materials; and submits to supervisor for approval. Creates flyers and other promotional items; arranges field trips; works special events, including teen and youth dances, holiday activities, etc. Assists in the organization, implementation and evaluation of rules and procedures Performs related duties as required.
