Hourly Salary Range:
$16.90-$22.87 per hour Position Description The City of Gridley is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable individual to serve as a Part-Time Recreation Aide with the Recreation Department. Under general supervision, Recreation Aide assists with organizing, leading, and supervising a variety of recreational activities and programs. The Recreation Aide provides direct supervision of participants, helps maintain a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment, and monitors recreational facilities while in use. This position works both indoors and outdoors at various locations, including parks, recreational facilities, playgrounds, and open spaces, and involves regular interaction with school-aged children, City staff, school district personnel, and recreation staff. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively, lead participants, create a positive and enjoyable recreational environment, and adapt to changing program needs. The position requires knowledge of recreational programs, basic first aid and safety practices, and standard English usage. Minimum Requirements Some experience in marketing, public relations, and working with youth and seniors Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid CPR & Basic First Aid certification. Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on the City needs, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime. Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred, but not required Must successfully complete fingerprinting.
