Overview Join our vibrant team as an Activities Assistant and become a key contributor to enhancing the quality of life for residents in a senior living environment. In this role, you will design, coordinate, and lead engaging activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help foster a warm, welcoming community where residents feel valued, connected, and inspired every day. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing your skills in elder care and recreational programming. Schedule Tuesday - Saturday (9am - 5:30pm) Responsibilities Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of engaging activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including recreational therapy sessions and special events. Coordinate resident events by managing schedules, securing necessary resources, and ensuring smooth execution. Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interaction, active listening, and compassionate communication. Collaborate with team members to develop innovative programs that support residents' cognitive, emotional, and physical health—especially those with memory care needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia. Assist in assessing residents' preferences and needs to create inclusive activities that foster participation and joy. Skills Proven experience in event planning and program development within assisted living or long-term care settings. Strong background working with seniors, including those with Alzheimer's disease or other memory impairments. Knowledge of geriatrics, dementia care, aging issues counseling, and recreational therapy techniques. Excellent communication skills for engaging residents with diverse needs and coordinating with team members. Proficiency in Microsoft Office for scheduling, documentation, and resident communication purposes. Ability to build meaningful rapport with residents while demonstrating empathy and patience. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care environments is highly desirable. Skilled in schedule management, resident rapport building, and coordinating engaging activities that promote socialization and well-being.
