Are you passionate about creating meaningful experiences for older adults and building a true sense of community? We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activity Coordinator to join our Day Center team and help foster a warm, engaging, and supportive environment for seniors and older adults with age-related conditions, including dementia. In this role, you will play an essential part in enhancing participants' quality of life through recreation, social engagement, wellness activities, and community connection. The ideal candidate is someone who is both organized and hands-on, enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds, and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. Essential Responsibilities Create a welcoming, inclusive, and socially engaging atmosphere within the Day Center where participants feel connected and supported Plan, prepare, and lead a variety of group and individual activities including: Exercise and movement groups Arts and crafts Music and cultural activities Cognitive stimulation groups News and discussion groups Community outings and special events Coordinate holiday celebrations, birthday parties, and special events while securing entertainment and community resources Encourage participation among socially isolated participants through compassionate one-on-one engagement Assist with participant needs throughout the center including meal service, transportation support, and personal care assistance when needed Help prepare and distribute monthly activity calendars Assist with inventory, supply ordering, budget planning, and purchasing for recreation programs Conduct and document recreation assessments, treatment plans, and quarterly re-evaluations Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with staff to support participant care and engagement QualificationsEducation Activity Coordinator Certificate OR Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Psychology, Gerontology, or a related field Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered Current First Aid and CPR Certification required Experience & Skills At least one year of professional or volunteer experience working with frail elders, individuals with dementia, or older adults with age-related conditions Passion for working with seniors in a multicultural and multilingual environment Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and related computer programs Fluency in English required; bilingual abilities are a plus Physical Requirements Ability to lift, transfer, push/pull, and reposition up to 35 lbs Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout the day Why Join Us?
