In this role, you will create engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's and dementia. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively community environment, promote social interaction, and support residents' physical and emotional well-being. Duties Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity for residents with diverse needs. Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to develop personalized activity plans that accommodate individual abilities and preferences. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, dressing, and personal hygiene as needed during activities. Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of programs while adapting to changing resident needs. Use effective communication skills to engage residents, encourage participation, and foster a warm community atmosphere. Monitor residents' responses during activities to ensure safety and comfort, adjusting plans accordingly. Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to support care planning and regulatory compliance. Requirements Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care settings. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, dementia care practices, and senior care principles. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care environments is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, staff, and external partners. Ability to assist residents with ADLs and manage schedules efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude. Familiarity with aging issues counseling, social work practices, or caregiving roles enhances your effectiveness in this position. Demonstrated ability to adapt activities for diverse cognitive and physical abilities while ensuring safety at all times. Join us in creating vibrant community experiences that enrich lives!
