Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Periodontal Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional periodontal and general dental care. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough patient assessments, provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, and support our patients in achieving optimal oral health. Responsibilities Perform detailed periodontal evaluations, including probing depths, bleeding indices, and charting using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Conduct professional dental cleanings, scaling, root planing, and other periodontal therapies in accordance with best practices and infection prevention protocols Educate patients on periodontal disease prevention, oral hygiene techniques, and overall dental care strategies to promote long-term health Assist with chairside procedures, including providing support during treatments, managing dental instruments, and ensuring patient comfort Take and interpret dental x-rays (radiographs), ensuring proper positioning and adherence to radiation safety standards Review medical histories and vital signs to assess patient health status prior to treatment and document findings accurately in medical records Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing sensitive medical information securely Requirements Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist with specialized training or experience in periodontal therapy Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting, documentation review, and electronic health record management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention standards Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus but not required; familiarity with pediatric patients is beneficial for providing comprehensive care when needed Skilled in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, medical imaging, taking vital signs, and patient education Knowledge of general dentistry practices along with specific expertise in periodontal treatments and patient care management Excellent communication skills for client interaction, education, and team collaboration in a fast-paced environment Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by providing expert periodontal care while advancing your career within a supportive and innovative practice!

$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
