We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and energetic Activities Assistant to help create meaningful experiences for our cherished memory care residents. The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys working with seniors and understands the importance of engagement, companionship, and creating moments of joy for residents living with memory loss. Your Responsibilities Assist in planning and leading creative, meaningful, and engaging activities specifically designed for memory care residents. Lead volunteer-based activities and help coordinate volunteers to support resident programming. Maintain an organized calendar of daily, weekly, and special activities and events. Provide a variety of activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, physical movement, creativity, and emotional well-being. Develop resident- and family-centered experiences that encourage participation and connection. Adapt activities to meet the individual abilities, interests, and needs of each resident. Encourage residents to participate while respecting their personal preferences and abilities. Assist with special events, celebrations, holidays, family gatherings, and community activities. Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and team members. Work closely with the care team to ensure activities are appropriate and supportive of each resident's care needs. Maintain accurate activity records and documentation as required. Create a warm, welcoming, and positive environment where residents feel valued and included. Help train, motivate, and support volunteers and fellow team members in providing high-quality activity programming. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall resident experience. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred. At least three years of job-related supervisory experience , preferably in a senior living, assisted living, memory care, healthcare, or recreational setting. Experience working with seniors, particularly individuals living with dementia or memory impairment, is strongly preferred. Proven ability to train, motivate, and work effectively with volunteers and team members. Creative, enthusiastic, and compassionate personality with a genuine passion for working with seniors. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to plan and coordinate multiple activities and events. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Reliable, patient, flexible, and able to respond positively to changing resident needs. Must be able to create an environment that promotes dignity, respect, independence, and quality of life.
