Job Description
Position Summary The Shop Attendant plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Tennis Center. This position ensures that courts and surrounding areas are prepared and maintained, assists members and guests with their needs, and helps create a welcoming, clean, and organized environment for all racquet sports activities. Daily Duties Wipe down all tables, chairs, benches, and indoor Tennis Center counters Empty all garbage cans Check all court clocks Refill drinking cups and straws Check both bathrooms and restock as needed Clean both glass entry doors Check emails and respond as needed Return missed calls Make reminder calls for the following day's lessons Update the lesson schedule one week in advance Review the court reservation schedule Report maintenance, supply, or safety concerns to the Tennis Professional Put the golf cart away and lock the shed door Set the air conditioning to 75°F before leaving Lock all doors, including outside closets Key Responsibilities Greet members and guests courteously and assist with court assignments, reservations, and general inquiries Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the sports courts, including sweeping, lining, and removing debris as needed, in coordination with maintenance Set up courts with necessary equipment, including ball baskets, water, and towels Monitor court usage and help enforce club rules and dress code policies Assist with lessons, clinics, programs, and events by preparing and setting up equipment String and re-grip racquets when trained or facilitate service requests through the pro shop Keep courts, lounges, restrooms, and other Tennis Center areas neat and well-stocked Promptly report maintenance issues and safety concerns to management Process billing transactions and maintain accurate records for Sports Club activities Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive member and guest experience Assist with pro shop operations, including merchandise organization and basic sales Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in a country club, tennis facility, retail, hospitality, or recreational setting is a plus Basic understanding of racquet sports rules and etiquette preferred Friendly and professional demeanor with excellent communication and customer-service skills Ability to use email, answer telephone calls, manage schedules, and learn club reservation and billing systems Ability to lift and move equipment and work both indoors and outdoors Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed CPR/AED certification preferred or willingness to obtain
