Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to energize and enrich the lives of residents in our care community. In this vital role, you will design, organize, and facilitate engaging activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help foster a vibrant environment where residents feel valued, supported, and inspired to participate actively in their daily lives. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working alongside a dedicated team committed to exceptional senior care. Duties Develop and implement diverse activity programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care plans Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, games, and outings that promote socialization and cognitive engagement Collaborate with healthcare professionals to incorporate therapeutic activities for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive disabilities Assist residents with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) as needed during activities to ensure safety and participation Monitor residents' responses during activities, report observations on patient condition, and adjust plans accordingly Maintain accurate documentation of activity participation and resident progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations Ensure a safe environment by adhering to patient safety protocols and manual handling procedures during all activities Requirements Prior experience working with seniors or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred Knowledge of assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care settings Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism Certifications in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), basic life support (BLS), and crisis intervention are required Ability to work effectively with patients experiencing mental health conditions or cognitive disabilities Strong communication skills for caregiver interaction and collaboration with healthcare professionals Physical ability to perform light to heavy lifting, assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts, and conduct manual handling tasks safely Valid driver's license for transportation duties related to outings or community engagement activities Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to patient observation and care planning is advantageous Join us as an Activities Coordinator where your passion for creating joyful experiences will directly enhance the quality of life for our residents.
