Job Description

The Resident Assistant supports the Activity Director in assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the residents. Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1. Interact with residents and families 2. Assist with all non-care duties such as passing water, linens, gowns, making beds 3. Engage residents on a one-to-one basis and in small and large groups 4. Flexible and patient with residents 5. Organize and lead activities 6. Strives to implement new activities 7. Assist transporting residents to and from activities and meals 8. Assist in dining room by taking orders, clearing tables, and helping residents to and from dining room 9. Prepare or bake snacks with residents and prepare snack cart 10. Assist with transport of residents to and from all areas of the facility 11. Work individually and as a team 12. Deliver mail and newspapers to residents 13. Lead exercise groups 14. Help residents to look their best and help maintain dignity and respect 15. Posting daily activity signs and handing out daily Chronicles 16. Assist with all non-care duties such as passing water, linens, gowns, and making beds if time allows 17. Perform activities as scheduled/assigned within your shift 18. Assist with redirecting residents and awareness of elopement risk residents 19. All other duties as assigned Competencies 1.
