Job Description

Job Summary Wellness Center Assistant supports Director Student Involvement in overseeing Wellness Center equipment and usage by athletics teams as well as assisting Instruction with tracking PE140 and PE141 courses. The Assistant will coordinate with Director Student Involvement on overall supervision of students, student-athletes as well as faculty and staff utilizing the Wellness Center from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Mondays through Thursdays in Fall 16-week semester and Spring 16-week semester. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, planning, leadership skills, attention to detail, flexibility, initiative and sound judgment. A positive role model for those working out in Wellness Center. Ability to demonstrate the Kishwaukee College Athletics core values of accountability, respect, sportsmanship, academic and athletic excellence. Required Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a college or high school coach working with proper wellness center techniques, or a current personal training certification with related fitness instruction experience. Preferred Qualifications Certified or willing to become CPR/AED/First Aid Certified. Recent Experience with overseeing wellness center activities as supervisor or supervising athletes in wellness center setting. Physical Demands Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 25 pounds with proper equipment; reasonable accommodations available. Light physical activity required; must be able to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in various formats. Primarily daytime hours with some evening and weekends to support College events and initiatives.
