Job Description

Work Preformed:
a) Facilitates recreation programs that address the physical, cognitive, creative, emotional, spiritual, or social needs of the resident/patient population in individual and group formats b) Coordinates and distributes monthly Recreation calendars which are posted in the following areas: 1) Recreation Room 2) Large calendar posted in each neighborhood corridor 3) Adapts print size as needed per resident request c) Assist with training new staff members and volunteers d) Provides co-supervision of Recreation Assistants and volunteers e) In absence of Director of Recreation, jointly will oversee the Recreation Department f) In conjunction with the Director, guides and coordinates departmental quality improvement in the following areas: 1) staff training and education 2) program development g) Asked to feed, after they go through the training, as needed.
Responsibility:
a) Encourages and facilitates group and 1:1 recreation programs, holds daily scheduled group programs. b) Facilitate the group process and supervise residents during recreation programs. c) Provide a safe environment for residents under his/her supervision, complying with safety regulations and policies.
