Job Description

General Statement of Duties Responsible for operation of recreation center and supervising/assisting with programs and special events at center and city wide special events. Distinguishing Features of the Class An employee in this class is responsible for operating the recreation center and supervising/ assisting with primary programs within the center.
Work includes:
Supervises/assists with managing the physical building when Director/Asst. Director is not on duty, and possibly managing the building alone if necessary Assist Community Service Workers and validate hours Supervises/assist with programs and special events Evaluate center and park area and ensure all maintenance needs are reported Supervises/assists during rentals Collect program fees Answer phone calls when necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities General Knowledge of opening and closing the recreation center General knowledge of operational procedures within the recreation center Communicate with the staff and the public Follows given responsibilities from center director Good communication skills Basic computer skills Ability to be certified in First Aid, CPR and AED Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Physical Requirements - work in this position is light work, requiring exertion of up to 47 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amounts of force constantly to move objects. Employee must have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Working conditions may include both inside or outside working conditions; however, the majority of work is inside. Employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Education A High School education is preferred Special Requirement Valid North Carolina Driver's License, Pass a City Drug Test and NC Background Check
