Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic after-school program as a Sports Enrichment Instructor, where you'll inspire children through engaging sports activities and physical education. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to foster teamwork, develop athletic skills, and promote healthy lifestyles among young learners. As a key team member, you'll lead energetic sports sessions, ensure safety protocols are followed, and create a fun, inclusive environment that encourages children to thrive physically and socially. Duties Plan and deliver diverse sports activities such as soccer, basketball, cheerleading, climbing, martial arts (including karate and judo), and swimming to children of various ages and skill levels Lead sports-specific training sessions, coaching techniques, and team-building exercises to enhance athletic skills and confidence Supervise children during activities, ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times Manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and clear communication to foster a respectful and enthusiastic environment Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, participation, and any safety concerns Operate AED (Automated External Defibrillator) devices during emergencies and administer first aid or CPR as needed Collaborate with other staff members to develop age-appropriate curricula that promote physical activity, health education, and teamwork Requirements Prior experience working with children in sports or physical education settings is essential Demonstrated knowledge of sports such as soccer coaching, basketball, cheerleading, climbing, martial arts (karate, judo), swimming or related activities Lifeguard experience preferred; certification in swimming safety is a plus Valid certification in first aid and CPR; AED operation training required or willingness to obtain upon hire Strong communication skills for effective client (parent/guardian) interaction and team collaboration Experience teaching physical education or sports-specific training instruction highly desirable Ability to manage behavior positively while maintaining a lively and motivating atmosphere Team leadership qualities with the ability to motivate children and work collaboratively with colleagues This paid role is perfect for energetic individuals passionate about promoting active lifestyles among youth.
