Job Description

Are you energetic, creative, and passionate about bringing people together? The City of Green is looking for someone like you to join our Parks & Recreation team as a Part-Time Recreation Assistant! This isn't your typical desk job—you'll be on the move, helping develop and coordinate engaging recreational programs and community events that make Green a great place to live, work, and play. Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of at least two (2) years of college course work and a minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience in organized recreation programs or teaching. High school graduation and one (1) year of leadership experience in organized recreation programs or teaching preferably with other local government agencies may be substituted for each year of the college requirement. Group fitness instructor certification preferred. Knowledge of sport rules and etiquette, preferable. Must be able to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays. Experience in recreational customer service role. Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver's license, qualify and remain insurable under the City's vehicle insurance policy.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Assist in the development and coordination of assigned recreation programs and activities. Work with individuals relating to recreation programs and activities. Work with community volunteers. Represent the Parks & Recreation interests of the city. Organize individuals participating in recreation programs. Organize and prioritize a variety of tasks and projects. Respond to requests for service and general recreation questions in a timely manner. Provide on- site program leadership and facility operation for program participants and city staff in absence of Parks & Recreation management staff. May assist with Parks & Recreation events and other programming in the Division/Department. Eligible for State of Ohio Pension contributions (OPERS) The City of Green is a Tobacco-Free Workplace.
