Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Community Life Associate to join our team and contribute to creating a vibrant and engaging environment for our residents. The Activities Assistant will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and facilitating various recreational, social, and therapeutic activities, trips & community events to enhance the overall quality of life for individuals in our care. o
Activity Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with the Community Life Managers and other team members to design, plan, and implement a diverse range of activities suitable for the preferences and needs of residents. Organize and lead small, large group, & 1:1 activities such as games, arts and crafts, exercise classes, music sessions, and outings. Adapt activities to accommodate varying levels of mobility, cognitive ability, and interests. Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where residents feel comfortable and encouraged to participate in activities. Build positive relationships with individuals, providing companionship and support during activities. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of activities, attendance, and individual progress. Generate reports on the effectiveness and outcomes of various activities to assist in program improvement. Assist in managing activity supplies and equipment, ensuring that materials are well-stocked and properly maintained. Effectively communicate activity schedules and updates to residents, families, and staff members. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to incorporate therapeutic interventions into activities when appropriate. Contribute ideas for new activities and improvements to existing programs based on resident feedback and industry trends. Participate in training and driving 12 passenger van for resident excursions in the community
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in music therapy, recreational therapy, gerontology, or related field is a plus. Previous experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or in a healthcare setting is advantageous. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively & positively interact with resident, families, and staff members. Creativity and flexibility in adapting activities to meet diverse needs and preferences. Organizational skills to manage activity schedules, supplies, and documentation. Basic computer skills for record-keeping, training and communication. Empathy, patience, and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors with varying abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment!!!

Physical Requirements:
This position may require standing, walking, lifting, and assisting residents with mobility during activities. The Community Life Associate should be physically capable of participating in various activities and be able to provide gentle physical assistance when needed.
