Job Description
Under the general supervision of the District Supervisor, must be physically and mentally capable of best meeting the varying needs of customers. The Recreation Leader develops relationships with community groups and individuals to foster strong positive customer feedback. Work involves the exercise of initiative, sound judgment, and discretion in the performanceofduties.
TheRecreationLeaderensurestheefficientdailyoperationofthefront desk within the County Facility and ensures all work is conducted according to County Policy, codes and standards of quality. Oversees, coordinates, and assists with the activities of all rentals, and programs at the recreation facility. Assuresthattherecreationfacilityisopenedorclosedandsecuredeachdayat the appropriate times. Utilizes Civic Plus software to register customers and process transactions Processes transactions, handles credit card and cash payments Ensuresproperoperationandmaintenanceofthefacilityandequipmentinsideand makes sure that the Center is in compliance with safety policies and procedures. Withassistanceofotherbuildingstaff,coordinatesprogramsandactivitieswithother departmental divisions, County agencies, community organizations and the general public. Assistswithsetup,cleanup,andstorageforprograms,includingtheperformanceof light custodial duties such trash pick-up, sweep floor, wipe counters off etc. Initiates and supervise safety measures for all activities. Receives and receipts reservation fees for programs. Provide friendly ,timely and responsive customer service. Performs general clerical duties as needed, including typing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, etc. Receives reviews, prepares and/or submits various records and report including accident reports. Monitorsandenforcespoliciesregardingtheuseofthepublicbuildingandpark lot. Occupancy rate is enforced during all times including rentals. Maintains consistent record of building use and up dates supervisor as needed. Maybeaskedtoassistwithprogramsoperatinginfacilityincludinggames,crafts, special events, childcare programs, athletic programs, community events, etc. All other duties assigned related to the job. Practicescontinuouslearningthroughindividualstudy,classroomtraining,seminarsand conferences. Knowledgeofpreparingandassistingwithrecreationalprograms,athleticactivities,clerical skills, and coordinating of recreational facilities preferred. Abilitytoquicklyadaptandlearncomputerprogramsincludingtheuseofonlinesoftware, word processing, financial and registration software Demonstrated customer service and conflict resolution skills Critical thinking skills ability to problem solve in difficult situations Desire to contribute to a team environment Ability to follow directions and take one responsibilities without being tasked High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent. Associate Degree preferred. 1 year of general office/clerical experience and/or 3+ years of experience in the Parks and Recreation or building operationsmanagementfieldoranyequivalentcombinationofeducationandexperienceproviding the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
