Therapeutic Recreation Technician Ogden, UT 84405 $18.78 - $20.61 an hour - Full-time $18.78 - $20.61 an hour - Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health and patient care, with a focus on supporting individuals with diverse needs. This role requires a blend of technical skills and interpersonal abilities, making it essential for the Technician to be adaptable and empathetic while providing high-quality care. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine individual needs and develop appropriate care plans. Provide support and care for individuals with PTSD, mental health challenges, and disabilities. Implement therapeutic activities, including music therapy, to enhance patient well-being. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients in various settings such as nursing homes and pediatrics. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy. Assist in equine therapy sessions when applicable, promoting physical and emotional healing through interaction with horses. Document patient progress and communicate effectively with team members regarding any changes in condition or behavior. Requirements Experience or training in mental health counseling or related fields is preferred. Familiarity with working with individuals who have disabilities is highly desirable. Skills in patient assessment and the ability to create tailored care plans are essential. Knowledge of music therapy techniques is a plus. Previous experience in home community care or nursing home settings is beneficial. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards.
