Open Until Filled Employment Opportunity The Orem Recreation Department is currently hiring referees for the youth soccer program. This is a non-benefitted position working under the direction of a Recreation Manager or Program Coordinator. Responsible for refereeing youth soccer games, help with minor field preparation and control of the overall game. Watch for and call all rule violations and be able to communicate reason for violation. Resolve problems and conflicts on site. Exhibit and emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship. Prepare reports and other written documents as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Due to scheduling and other job requirements, applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Requires a strong knowledge of soccer, including rules, scoring procedures, penalties and hand signals. Ability to move up and down the field with the flow of the game; could require some bending and lifting. Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions. Ability to resolve problems and conflicts at game site. Ability to record game points and other required game information. A valid driver s license may be required. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background investigation. Pay and Benefits Individual starting salary will depend on qualifications, certifications, and experience. The City also provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.   • Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
