Assistant Camp Director Bridges to Independence Arlington, VA Job Details Temporary $25 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Outdoor work Working with children First Aid Certification Cleaning Critical thinking Full Job Description Overview Camp Thrive & Shine is seeking a responsible, energetic, and organized Assistant Camp Director to help lead our summer camp program for children ages 5-12. The Assistant Camp Director will support daily camp operations, supervise staff and campers, ensure a safe and positive environment, and help create engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, teamwork, and fun. Responsibilities Assist with daily camp operations and program coordination Supervise campers and ensure safety procedures are followed Support and guide camp counselors and staff Help plan and lead recreational, educational, and enrichment activities Communicate with parents and caregivers professionally Manage attendance, schedules and activity transitions Help resolve camper or staff concerns in a positive manner Maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and energetic camp environment Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of camp materials Qualifications Must be 21 years or older Must pass background check Experience working with children ages 5-12 Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills Must be able to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities Positive attitude, patience, and reliability Adult and Child CPR/ First Aid certification preferred Exposure to emotionally challenging situations requires patience and resilience. May require lifting up to 25 lbs., standing for extended periods, and engaging in recreational activities with youth
