As soon as possible Lead Our New Meridianville Restaurant Miss Management, Inc. is hiring an experienced General Manager to lead the opening and ongoing operation of our new Zaxby's restaurant in Meridianville. This is an opportunity for a proven high-volume operator to build a team, establish the culture, and take ownership of a new restaurant from the beginning. We are not looking for someone who simply manages shifts. We want a hands-on leader who develops people, understands the numbers, maintains high standards, and takes pride in the restaurant's performance.
Compensation and Benefits Base salary:
$65,000-$75,000 Quarterly performance bonus Maximum annual bonus opportunity: $12,000 Successful General Managers commonly earn $6,000-$10,000 annually in bonuses Company-paid individual health-insurance coverage Family and upgraded plans available at the employee's additional cost Dental and vision insurance options Free meals while working One week of paid vacation after the first year Two weeks beginning in the second year Three weeks after five years Advancement opportunities as the company continues to grow Bonuses are based on measurable results, including sales growth, food cost, labor, guest satisfaction, speed of service, staffing, and inventory management. About Miss Management Miss Management has operated Zaxby's restaurants since 1999. Meridianville will become our 21st location. We offer the resources and advancement opportunities of a growing restaurant company while remaining small enough for General Managers to have direct access to leadership.
Our General Managers receive:
Involved and accessible ownership Approximately three to four restaurants per District Manager Direct support from a hands-on District Manager and Director of Operations Professional training, maintenance, facilities, and operational support A transparent culture built around fairness, development, and accountability Two of our six District Managers began their careers with the company as cashiers. The Opportunity Before opening, the General Manager will: Complete at least eight weeks of paid training Train at multiple locations in the greater Huntsville area Become fully Zaxby's certified Hire approximately 50 opening-team employees Help prepare and develop the management team Lead employee orientation, training, setup, and opening execution Establish the restaurant's culture and operating expectations The General Manager will inherit at least three managers and possibly as many as five. There may also be an opportunity to bring one or two qualified leaders from an existing professional network. Primary Responsibilities Take ownership of the restaurant's people, culture, performance, and financial results Recruit, hire, train, develop, and retain a strong team Lead from the floor and work alongside employees when needed Develop assistant managers and future restaurant leaders Maintain high standards for food quality, service, speed, cleanliness, and safety Create effective management and employee schedules Maintain appropriate staffing levels Manage labor according to the company labor model Control food cost, waste, inventory, and cash Maintain food-cost variance below 1% Analyze profit-and-loss statements and operating reports Maintain guest-satisfaction results above company standards Maintain food-safety and audit scores of 95% or higher Handle performance reviews, coaching, discipline, and termination when necessary Communicate professionally with employees, guests, and company leadership Required Experience Qualified candidates should have: At least three years of successful General Manager-level or higher experience Experience managing a location producing at least $3 million in annual sales Experience leading at least 50 employees Full profit-and-loss responsibility Experience managing labor, food cost, inventory, staffing, and operational performance A strong record of recruiting, developing, and retaining employees Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills A professional appearance and leadership presence Previous Zaxby's experience is not required. We welcome candidates from high-volume quick service, fast casual, full service, hospitality, retail, entertainment, grocery, or other complex service operations. An exceptional Assistant General Manager from a significantly larger or higher-volume operation may also be considered. New-restaurant-opening experience is preferred but not required. Schedule This is a salaried position based on an expected 50-hour workweek , normally consisting of five 10-hour workdays. General Managers have significant control over their schedules but are expected to schedule themselves according to the needs of the restaurant.
The position requires:
Availability for opening, closing, weekend, or holiday shifts when necessary Responsiveness to significant restaurant issues outside scheduled hours Reliable personal transportation Occasional travel, typically for two company meetings per year in Atlanta What Success Looks Like During the first 90 days, the General Manager will be expected to: Become fully Zaxby's certified Demonstrate operational competence Recruit and hire a team that fits our culture Develop the opening management team Prepare the restaurant for a successful opening Long-term success means building a fully staffed, clean, organized, profitable restaurant with strong guest satisfaction, effective cost control, high employee retention, and a culture of pride and accountability.
