Overview An exceptional Butler / House Manager is sought to join a fully staffed private estate in Atherton. This position is ideal for a hospitality professional with a polished, service-oriented background and a genuine passion for creating a seamless luxury lifestyle experience. The ideal candidate embodies the discretion, attention to detail, and anticipatory service associated with Europe's finest five-star hotels and private residences. This is a hands-on role that works closely with the House Manager, sharing responsibilities and providing coverage when needed. Flexibility, teamwork, and a willingness to wear multiple hats are essential. Schedule Primarily Monday through Friday Flexibility is essential Willingness to occasionally work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Responsibilities Deliver exceptional five-star service to the principals and guests Partner closely with the House Manager to oversee the smooth daily operation of the residence Provide House Manager coverage when needed Manage wardrobe organization and seasonal rotation Oversee laundry, garment care, and wardrobe presentation Expertly pack and unpack luggage for business and personal travel Prepare vehicles before departures, ensuring they are fully stocked, clean, and ready for use Ensure the home and principals are always prepared for daily activities, travel, and entertaining Assist with light food and beverage service when appropriate Anticipate the family's needs and proactively resolve issues before they arise Coordinate effectively with the household staff to maintain the highest service standards
Qualifications Ideal Candidate:
Experience in luxury private service, five-star hospitality, or a European luxury hotel environment Strong understanding of formal household service and etiquette Exceptional organizational and wardrobe management skills Professional, polished appearance and demeanor College education preferred Highly discreet, trustworthy, and detail-oriented Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable in a collaborative environment Willing to take on responsibilities outside of a traditional butler role when needed Salary and Benefits $150,000+, DOE Medical insurance with 70% employer-paid premium Optional dental and vision coverage available at employee expense 401(k) plan available (no employer match) Two weeks of paid time off Federal holidays Generous discretionary bonus opportunity
