Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Catering and Events Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of exceptional events across our venue. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise in hospitality, event management, and client relations while ensuring seamless experiences for our members and guests. As a key driver of our events program, you will collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver memorable occasions that exceed expectations. Responsibilities Achieve and exceed personal room night and catering goals (if applicable). Execute all events assigned Ensures all BEOs and resumes are completed accurately and distributed before the meetings. Oversee all food, beverage, setup, audiovisual, resumes, welcome letters, and Banquet Event Orders for events. Upsells all aspects of events to include décor and specialty items for events. Liaises with banquet staff in order to turnover event execution and client relationship once planning has been completed and the client is in-house. Orders operational supplies needed for events. Follow through of billing, delivery, serving and pickup of all items. Completes and follows through on all internal and external communication, including but not limited to accounting concerns, property requests, resumes and engineering requests. Possesses excellent interpersonal and sales-related skills for both selling and servicing events. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of meeting room capacities, banquet set up, audio-visual and any other pertinent details as they relate to events. Has extensive knowledge of food and beverage products, proper preparation and presentation of food and beverage items, including wine sales and service. Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints. Collaborate, communicate, and participate as a team player with fellow managers. Meet guests for site inspections, meet with guests upon arrival and departure and provide knowledgeable information about the properties. Able to manage multiple tasks and stressful situations. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Develop and maintain positive rapport with group contacts/meeting planners and internal staff. Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm. Complete any reasonable request from your supervisors. Consistently present a polished, professional image representing all La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club entities Will be self-motivated, team-oriented, ambitious, and driven for sales success. Participates in the evaluation of employees. Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience preferred. A minimum of three years of employment in a related position. Proven experience in event planning or hospitality management within the events or catering industry. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Exceptional communication skills for effective client interaction and team leadership. Knowledge of banquet operations, catering services, guest services, and overall hospitality standards. Pay:
