ATTENTION CERTIFIED DIETARY MANAGERS WHO HAVE EVER HEARD
"
THE FOOD IS COLD
"
WHILE ACTIVELY WATCHING STEAM COME OFF THE PLATE.
The Lodge at Red Rocks is hiring a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM). Yes, it's healthcare food service. Yes, everyone has an opinion. No, we cannot explain why someone who has hated broccoli since 1947 suddenly considers its preparation a matter requiring executive intervention. What we can offer is a seriously strong leadership team and an opportunity to run a dietary department the right way. Our NHA/DON combo? Arguably unfair to the competition. Our IDT? Top tier. Dietary actually has a seat at the table here — and not just because you know where the snacks are. Our pay? Competitive. Our residents? The reason we show up. Our expectations? High — because food in a SNF isn't "just food." It's nutrition, safety, dignity, comfort, clinical care, and sometimes the single most important event on someone's calendar. We're looking for a CDM who can lead a kitchen, manage a team, keep survey readiness from becoming a once-a-year panic attack, understand therapeutic diets, work closely with nursing and clinical leadership, control costs, maintain standards, and somehow solve the mystery of why we ordered 47 cases of something nobody remembers ordering.
YOU SHOULD APPLY IF
You can walk into a kitchen and immediately identify six things that need attention. You understand that "regular," "mechanical soft," "pureed," and "thickened" are not suggestions. You can manage schedules without needing an advanced degree in theoretical mathematics. You know sanitation isn't something we suddenly become interested in when surveyors walk through the door. You can manage inventory, staffing, menus, dietary needs, resident preferences, budgets, and the occasional crisis before your second cup of coffee. You understand that dietary and nursing working together makes everyone's life significantly easier. You can handle a resident telling you breakfast was terrible — and then asking if there are seconds.
And most importantly:
You give a damn about your residents and the people you lead.
THE IMPORTANT GROWN-UP STUFF
Candidates must have: Current Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential through the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers, if required for the position Food Protection Professional credential/status as applicable Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, therapeutic diets, and healthcare food-service operations Ability to meet applicable federal, state, and facility requirements for food and nutrition services in a skilled nursing facility Leadership and supervisory experience appropriate for managing a SNF dietary department Any additional certifications or qualifications required by The Lodge for the position
WHAT WE OFFER
Competitive pay An NHA/DON leadership combo we're extremely proud of A genuinely strong interdisciplinary team A leadership role where your department actually matters Opportunity to build, improve, and lead Residents worth showing up for The opportunity to create a dining program you're proud to put your name on Approximately 97% less corporate recruiting nonsense in this ad If your current dietary department has you sitting in the walk-in cooler for three minutes because it's the only place nobody can find you... We should probably talk. The Lodge at Red Rocks
NOW HIRING A CERTIFIED DIETARY MANAGER
Tag the CDM who needs a change. Send it to your favorite dietary manager. Send it anonymously. Print it and mysteriously place it next to the temperature logs. We're not asking questions.
