Comfortable using Google Sheets as a shared scheduling and communication tool. About Our Family We're a busy, warm household that runs on rhythm, routine, and a whole lot of heart. Both parents work full-time, and our days are shaped around school schedules, after-school activities, neighborhood play, and family dinners whenever we can enjoy them together. We have two school-age children who are active, social, and enjoy getting outside and spending time with friends. They're independent in many ways, but we're looking for someone who enjoys being around kids and can bring a fun, engaged, and responsible presence to their afternoons. On non-sport days, you might head to the park, play outside, organize a game, or help coordinate neighborhood play with friends. We're looking for someone who can be a reliable point person while giving the kids the independence that comes naturally at their age. Our large, friendly dog is a beloved member of the family and an important part of our daily routine, so we're looking for someone who truly loves dogs and enjoys getting outside with them. A daily 1-2 mile dog walk is a core part of the role. Most of all, we're hoping to find someone who will feel at home in our family's rhythm—someone who enjoys spending time with the kids, loves our dog, takes pride in helping things run smoothly, and genuinely enjoys being part of a warm and active household. Who You Are / What We're Looking For You're warm, proactive, and confident, with a natural ability to notice what needs attention and take initiative without being asked. You're comfortable in a busy household, enjoy being around kids, and would love having a big, friendly dog as part of your daily routine. You bring a calm, positive energy to the home and enjoy being an engaged presence during the after-school hours. We're looking for someone who is punctual, dependable, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly. You approach your work with kindness, respect, and professionalism, communicate clearly, and follow through on what you commit to. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is trustworthy, thoughtful, and invested in becoming a positive part of our household. Key Responsibilities Family Support & Child Assistance Greet the kids when they walk home from school and help them transition into the afternoon: backpack unpacking, snack, and settling in Engage the kids in activities such as games, outdoor play, and neighborhood time on non-sport days, serving as a trusted and responsible point person Coordinate sports drop-offs and carpools based on a rotating seasonal schedule Handle kid-related errands as needed, such as last-minute school supply runs Provide occasional evening coverage, particularly when the primary parent is traveling Laundry & Linens Manage laundry as the highest-priority household task, including washing, switching loads, folding, and organizing Rotate linens during weeks when the regular cleaner is not scheduled Keep the laundry area tidy and well stocked Complete minimal ironing as needed Pet Care Walk the family dog approximately 2-3 miles each afternoon as a regular part of the role Feed the dog using a raw food diet, including related preparation and cleanup Household Management and Organization Keep drop zones throughout the home organized, including the kitchen, front entry, mudroom, and garage Handle light daily tidying, including dishes, clearing surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas Complete seasonal swaps for the kids' clothing and outdoor items Provide packing and unpacking support around family travel Break down and dispose of boxes and deliveries Inventory & Errands Complete occasional grocery runs and receive and put away grocery deliveries Handle donation drop-offs as needed Use a household credit card for approved errands and provide receipts Meal Planning and Prep Provide meal prep support as needed, including chopping, setting up a slow cooker, and cleaning the kitchen after food preparation Comfortably handle meat and other meal-preparation tasks Prepare healthy snacks for the kids after school Deep Cleaning & Special Projects Complete occasional deeper cleaning tasks, such as refrigerator cleaning, pantry organization, and mudroom refreshes Assist with organizational projects as they arise, including gear and seasonal items Cover outdoor patio furniture as needed How to Apply Please submit a short intro letter telling us about yourself and why this role is a great fit, an updated resume, and 3 professional references with contact information.
