This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, organization, and being part of a warm, family-oriented environment. While some kitchen cleaning and organization are part of the role, the primary focus is taking ownership of the kitchen, including meal planning, shopping, cooking, inventory management, and helping create enjoyable family meals and gatherings. We are a close-knit family with children ranging in age from 18 to 27, so no two days are exactly alike. Family dinners remain an important tradition in our home, and we gather together most evenings around 6:00 PM. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the kitchen and food-related operations while becoming a valued member of our household team. This position is intended to replace a beloved employee who was with our family for nearly 50 years. We are looking for someone who is interested in building a long-term relationship with our family and takes pride in creating a welcoming, well-run kitchen. Responsibilities Plan and prepare daily family dinners and occasional lunches or special meals Grocery shop and maintain household food inventory Meal prep and prepare food for family members with varying schedules Keep pantry, refrigerator, freezer, and storage areas organized and well-stocked Rotate food inventory and monitor freshness of ingredients Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas Assist with menu planning and special family events Coordinate food needs for gatherings and occasional entertaining Serve family members and guests during larger events when needed Work collaboratively with other household staff to ensure smooth household operations Schedule We are open to finding the right schedule for the right person. This role can be structured as either a part-time hourly position or a more full-time role, depending on the candidate's experience, availability, and overall fit with our household. We already have a full-time household staff member who manages the general cleaning of the home, and there is flexibility to expand responsibilities and hours for the right individual.
