This position is responsible for the member dining experience across our dining rooms, bar, outdoor dining areas, club events, and private functions. The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader who enjoys being actively involved in service, developing a team, building relationships with members, and maintaining high hospitality standards. This is a highly visible, service-focused management position. The Food & Beverage Manager is expected to be present on the floor during service, anticipate member needs, support the team in real time, and work closely with the Clubhouse Manager and Executive Chef to ensure a consistent and exceptional experience. Key Responsibilities Lead front-of-house operations during lunch, dinner, club events, and private functions. Conduct pre-shift meetings covering reservations, menu changes, member preferences, and service priorities. Maintain and reinforce service standards for greetings, timing, table maintenance, presentation, and professional appearance. Build relationships with members by learning their names, preferences, and expectations. Maintain a strong floor presence and regularly engage with members throughout service. Address member concerns promptly and professionally and communicate recurring feedback to Club leadership. Coordinate closely with the Executive Chef on service timing, menu execution, and kitchen-to-floor communication. Manage reservations, seating flow, and cover counts across dining outlets. Oversee opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, POS reconciliation, and end-of-night reporting. Partner with the Lead Bartender on wine and cocktail selections, seasonal offerings, beverage costs, inventory levels, and staff education. Assist with wine dinners, tastings, and other beverage-focused member events. Interview, hire, onboard, train, schedule, and coach front-of-house employees. Create weekly schedules based on forecasted business levels while maintaining established labor targets. Provide ongoing staff training on menus, wine and beverage knowledge, POS procedures, and service standards. Manage labor costs, beverage costs, and operating supplies within budget. Review payroll, time records, breaks, and overtime for assigned employees. Oversee beverage, smallware, and service-supply ordering and monthly inventory. Review daily sales, comps, and operating variances. Assist with annual Food & Beverage budgeting and pricing recommendations. Execute club events and member private parties according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). Coordinate event staffing, setup, service timing, and breakdown with the Events and Culinary teams. Maintain sanitation, food safety, responsible alcohol service, and Club operating standards. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of front-of-house management experience ; private club or fine-dining experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a hospitality team while maintaining high service standards. Working knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails, and beverage service. Strong member/guest relations and problem-solving skills. Professional presence and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working with POS systems, scheduling software, and basic financial and operational reporting. Clubessential experience is a plus. ServSafe and responsible alcohol service certification, or ability to obtain both within 90 days of hire. Second language is a plus. Schedule & Physical Requirements This is a full-time, exempt position. Nights, weekends, and holidays are required , and scheduling will vary based on the Club's season and event calendar. Candidates must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry up to 40 pounds, and work in both indoor and outdoor dining environments.
