Job Description

General Manager Pay:
$70,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience Bonus Eligible After 6 Months Full Time | Daytime Operations | No Late Nights The Opportunity Mitch's Downtown is hiring an experienced General Manager to lead one of our South Florida restaurants. This is not just another restaurant management position. We are looking for a true operator who can lead people, run a high-volume restaurant, drive performance, protect the guest experience, and take complete ownership of their business. You need to be able to build and develop a strong team, manage labor and food costs, maintain operational standards, solve problems quickly, coach managers and team members, and create a restaurant where both guests and employees want to be. Our General Managers are expected to know what is happening in their restaurant — with their people, their guests, their numbers, and their operation. If you are an experienced restaurant leader who wants real responsibility and the opportunity to grow with an expanding brand, this is a serious opportunity. About Mitch's Downtown Mitch's Downtown is a modern, high-energy twist on the classic New York deli. We serve breakfast and lunch in a fast-paced, high-volume environment built around speed, quality, and hospitality. We are a growing multi-location brand with additional stores in development throughout South Florida. Our leadership team is building the infrastructure, systems, and management bench to support that growth. We promote from within. We develop leaders. We expect high standards. Our three core values guide how we operate: Family. Unreasonable Hospitality. New York State of Mind. What You Will Own As General Manager, you are responsible for the overall performance of your restaurant, including: Leading the restaurant through high-volume breakfast and lunch shifts Recruiting, training, coaching, and developing a high-performing team Developing managers and future leaders within your restaurant Creating a culture of accountability, urgency, hospitality, and teamwork Delivering an exceptional guest experience and resolving guest issues with urgency Maintaining food quality, consistency, cleanliness, organization, and speed of service Managing labor, scheduling, food cost, inventory, waste, and controllable expenses Understanding your restaurant's financial performance and taking action when results are off target Maintaining strong ticket times and operational execution during peak volume Ensuring company systems, checklists, training programs, and operating standards are followed Maintaining food safety and health department readiness at all times Communicating effectively with ownership and operations leadership Recognizing problems before they become bigger problems and taking action to solve them Holding managers and team members accountable while continuing to coach and develop them Building a restaurant culture where great employees want to stay and grow Taking ownership when standards are not being met instead of waiting for someone else to fix the problem This is a hands-on leadership position. You will lead people. You will run the restaurant. You will know your numbers. You will protect the guest experience. You will set the standard. Who You Are You have strong restaurant management experience in a high-volume operation Previous experience as a General Manager, AGM, Restaurant Manager, Operating Partner, or similar leadership position is strongly preferred Experience with a respected high-volume restaurant or multi-unit restaurant brand is strongly preferred You have successfully led and developed managers and hourly team members You understand restaurant financials, including labor, food cost, sales, inventory, and profitability You know how to coach performance and hold people accountable without losing your composure You are comfortable making decisions and solving problems in real time You understand that hospitality is more than simply getting an order correct You are highly organized and able to create structure in a fast-paced environment You are confident and calm under pressure You communicate clearly and consistently You are reliable, professional, solutions-oriented, and accountable You take ownership instead of making excuses You want to build something and grow with a company rather than simply manage another restaurant We value stability and growth. We look for leaders who have grown within organizations, taken on increasing responsibility, and can demonstrate results — not someone who changes jobs every few months. We are looking for someone who can build a great restaurant and become an important part of the future of Mitch's Downtown. Compensation and Benefits $70,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience Performance-based bonus eligibility after 6 months
