FRONT-OF-HOUSE
MANAGERWhale Harbor Restaurant Group — Islamorada, Florida Whale Harbor Restaurant Group is seeking an experienced, hands-on Front-of-House Manager to join our leadership team in the Florida Keys. Our restaurant group includes high-volume waterfront dining, upscale steakhouse service, sports-bar operations, private events, and exciting new concepts under development. We are looking for a motivated hospitality professional who can lead employees, control the floor, increase sales, and consistently deliver an outstanding guest experience. This is not a manager who operates from the office. The successful candidate will be highly visible, actively involved in service, and capable of leading from the front during busy shifts. Primary Responsibilities Direct daily front-of-house restaurant operations Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities Manage floor coverage, sections, reservations, and seating flow Maintain service standards during high-volume periods Train, coach, motivate, and hold employees accountable Ensure guests are acknowledged promptly and served professionally Monitor ticket times and communication between the dining room, bar, kitchen, and expo line Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally Drive sales through effective menu knowledge, suggestive selling, and promotion of specials Monitor labor and adjust staffing according to business volume Review employee schedules, attendance, punctuality, and overtime Verify accurate POS entries, discounts, voids, and complimentary items Enforce alcohol-service policies, standard pours, and responsible service practices Complete opening and closing management duties Maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization, and readiness Assist with inventory control, cash handling, deposits, and loss prevention Support private events, holiday service, major sporting events, and special promotions Work closely with culinary leadership and senior management Protect the company's standards, reputation, and financial performance Ideal Candidate Minimum of two years of restaurant-management or supervisory experience Experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant Strong working knowledge of front-of-house and bar operations Proven ability to lead servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers, and support staff Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills Strong understanding of labor control, scheduling, and restaurant profitability Comfortable using POS, scheduling, and timekeeping systems Able to remain organized and decisive under pressure Professional appearance and leadership presence Dependable, accountable, and willing to lead by example Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events ServSafe Manager and responsible alcohol-service certifications preferred What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Opportunity to join a growing, multi-concept restaurant group High-volume operation with strong earning and advancement potential Direct involvement in restaurant growth and new concept development Supportive senior leadership and opportunities for professional development A dynamic working environment in the heart of the Florida Keys How to Apply Please submit your résumé along with a brief description of your restaurant-management experience, leadership style, and availability.
