Responsible for all food service and the overall success of the LECOM School of Dental Medicine Cafeteria. Daily oversight for providing customers with prompt and excellent service while maintaining a clean and comfortable environment in accordance with LECOM's standard of excellence.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and maintain effective working relationships; Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of LECOM; Ensure that the highest standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained to the required standards at all times; T ake full responsibility for food service while supervising employees; Fully comply with all Health, Safety and Food Hygiene regulations; Oversee all food ordering as required throughout the week, working within a fixed budget; Control food costs while maintaining correct and economical use of all food items and waste at all times; Create monthly menus; Ensure all kitchen equipment and facilities are kept and maintained in safe and good working order at all times; Assist in the set-up, take down and cleaning of the kitchen according to procedure on a daily basis and as required; Maintain a clean and tidy environment at all times in the preparation areas; Be an active and supportive team member, contributing in a constructive manner and treating all team members and customers with fairness and courtesy; Provide excellent customer service, serving customers promptly, courteously and with a smile; Ensure that food and drink served to customers is of a consistently high standard and is well presented; Assists with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed; Enforce and oversee LECOM operational policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all employees; Maintains regular and punctual attendance; and Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience equivalent to:
Education:
High School diploma and/or equivalent required. Undergraduate or Associates degree in associated field preferred.
Experience:
Previous restaurant / food service and customer service experience of two to four (2-4) years' preferred. Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation; Meet Café operating policies and standards, including, but not limited to, providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and Café safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation; Engage with and understand customers, including, but not limited to, discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication; and Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including, but not limited to, recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients.
