General Manager - Role Overview The General Manager (GM) role is multifaceted, requiring a strong balance of leadership, financial acumen, and guest focus. This position is responsible for driving operational excellence while building a high-performing team and delivering an exceptional guest experience. Key Responsibilities Operational Oversight Oversee daily bar and restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures Manage inventory and ensure adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Make day-to-day operational decisions that keep the business running smoothly and guests satisfied Team Leadership Recruit, train, coach, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional service Lead by example while embodying the brand's culture, passion, and hospitality standards Build and maintain a positive workplace culture that supports employee engagement, morale, and retention Financial Performance Manage labor costs, cost of goods sold (COGS), and overall sales performance to meet profitability goals Review daily sales reports and analyze food and beverage cost trends Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed Submit payroll, track labor against budgets, and identify opportunities to improve profitability Guest Experience Maintain a clean, welcoming, and consistent environment that exceeds guest expectations Drive guest satisfaction and repeat business Professionally and calmly resolve guest concerns or complaints Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with local liquor laws, health codes, and labor regulations Maintain proper food storage temperatures and required food safety certifications Manage responsible alcohol service to prevent over-serving Prepare and maintain documentation for regulatory inspections Foster a safe, respectful, and harassment-free workplace
