Assistant Food and Beverage Manager Job Summary Supports Food and Beverage Department in management of all bar and dining services by overseeing all aspects of multi-unit food service, dining, and catering operations. Supervises FOH personnel, develop and implement programs to increase revenue and job performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists Food and Beverage Department with the management of all food and beverage outlets including, but not limited to beverage carts, pool area, bar/lounge areas, and banquet rooms by ensuring that product quality and service standards are met
- Supervises all FOH staff by recruiting candidates, recommending for hire, orientating, training, assigning, scheduling, and evaluating performance according to established club procedures
- Provides hands on assistance to co-workers
- Handles complaints from club members, guests and others relative to the food and beverage department
- Responsible for overseeing dining service during peak hours
- Assures the proper ringing in of orders by checking accuracy at close and server check out
- Assures proper closing procedures have been adhered to by signing off on closing check lists
- Assists with private parties and service in food and beverage outlets when necessary
- Keeps current with changing member preferences and industry trends relative to the beverage operation
- Attends staff and management meetings
- Schedules wine and beer samplings with distributors to continuously improve variety and quality of beverages available to members and guests
- Develops standard operation procedures to help assure that bars are set up and operated efficiently
- Assures that the Club's policies and procedures for selling alcoholic beverages are consistently followed in all beverage outlets and at all Club functions while assuring that all laws applicable to beverage operations are consistently followed
- Inspects to ensure that the Club's sanitation, safety, energy management, preventive maintenance and other programs are implemented and complied with as they apply to the food and beverage operation
- Monitors bar closing procedures and assures that area is secure
- Completes other appropriate work assignments requested by the F&B Director/Executive Chef and other management Additional Responsibilities
- Acknowledges, greets, and thanks all members and guests
- May be required to fill in as bartender, server, host, etc. as needed
- Remains aware of all course events, large parties, and reservations that may affect the food and beverage operations
- Maintains knowledge of local competition and industry trends
- Implements and supports all SpurWing initiatives and programs as requested by management
- Other duties may be assigned by management Licenses and Special Requirements
- TIPS certification
- Food safety certification
- AED, CPR, and First Aid training
- Knowledge of applicable liquor laws, procedures and policies, ability to determine signs of intoxication
- Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcoholic beverages
- Experience in resolving customer issues/complaints as well as overall excellent customer service required Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and twist or reach
- Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
- Continuous repetitive motions
- Work in hot, humid, and noisy environment
