Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire A direct hire opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy to lead the inpatient pharmacy operations at a historic not-for-profit acute care hospital serving an underserved community on Chicago's South Side. This leadership role offers competitive compensation with a base salary range of $165,000 to $185,000, an annual bonus, and potential relocation assistance.
Location:
Chicago, Illinois (South Side community hospital) Pharmacy operating hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-10:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday 7:00 AM-8:00
PM Key Responsibilities:
Provide full scope clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial leadership for the hospital's pharmacy department Collaborate closely with hospital administration and clinical leadership teams to ensure effective pharmacy services Oversee a diverse pharmacy team consisting of full-time, part-time, and PRN staff totaling approximately 20 employees
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active Illinois Pharmacist License in good standing (mandatory) Minimum three years of Director of Pharmacy experience in an acute care inpatient hospital setting Minimum three years of acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy experience PharmD strongly preferred Board Certification and hospital pharmacy residency completion are strong pluses Proven ability to manage a multi-level pharmacy team, including full-time, part-time, and PRN staff Strong knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS compliance requirements Experience in community or safety net hospital settings is advantageous Demonstrated commitment to community health and serving underserved patient populations Willingness to relocate to Chicago's South Side if not currently local
