Somerset Academy is looking for a dependable, organized, and hardworking Childcare Center Cook / Kitchen Manager to join our team! This position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for our children while keeping our kitchen clean, organized, safe, and compliant with KOEC and CACFP standards. Our Childcare Center Cook / Kitchen Manager plays an important role in keeping our center running smoothly each day. We are looking for someone who can work independently, stay organized, multitask, and take pride in providing healthy meals for children.

Responsibilities Include:

Prepare, cook, and serve daily meals and snacks according to planned menus Ensure meals and portion sizes meet KOEC and CACFP requirements Create and maintain menus that follow nutritional guidelines Deliver meals to classrooms on time and at proper temperatures Follow safe food handling, labeling, storage, and sanitation procedures Wash and sanitize dishes and kitchen equipment Keep the kitchen, appliances, refrigerators, freezers, counters, floors, and food storage areas clean and organized Check expiration dates and properly rotate food Maintain food inventory and prepare weekly grocery/shopping lists Receive, organize, and put away food and supply orders Complete required food service and attendance documentation Monitor food waste and help control food costs Assist with general facility cleaning and organization as needed Occasionally assist in classrooms, provide staff breaks, or help supervise children when needed Follow all Somerset Academy, KOEC, and CACFP policies and procedures

What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently. You must be comfortable working in a busy childcare environment and willing to jump in and help wherever needed. Applicants must be able to pass required background checks, have reliable transportation, communicate professionally, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay:

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
