Part-Time Household Manager / Family Assistant Confidential Chestnut Hill, MA Job Details Part-time $28 - $35 an hour 12 hours ago Qualifications Food handling Outdoor work experience Groundskeeping Driver's License Driving Dog handling Food preparation Full Job Description We are a busy, warm family seeking a reliable, proactive Part-Time Household Manager / Family Assistant to help keep our Chestnut Hill home organized, functional, and running smoothly. This is a year-round position averaging approximately 15-20 hours per week , with some flexibility depending on household needs. The ideal person enjoys creating order, is comfortable moving between household tasks and errands, and can independently recognize what needs attention without requiring constant direction. This is not primarily a deep-cleaning position. We are looking for someone who can help manage the everyday systems and details that make a busy household work well. Responsibilities Responsibilities may vary from week to week and include: Household organization and maintaining organized systems throughout the home Laundry from start to finish, including folding and putting items away Dishes, kitchen resets, and keeping counters and common spaces orderly Keeping the refrigerator, pantry, cabinets, closets, and other household spaces clean and organized Light food preparation, meal prep, washing/chopping produce, and helping keep easy family meals available Grocery shopping and household supply runs Running errands, returns, pickups, and other personal-assistant-type tasks Meeting household vendors, repair professionals, landscapers, delivery teams, etc. Helping coordinate access to the home and communicating basic information with vendors as needed Packing and unpacking for travel, seasonal transitions, or household projects Occasional party or entertaining preparation and post-event reset Light exterior upkeep, including weeding, tidying outdoor areas, covering/uncovering furniture, and other seasonal tasks Keeping an eye on household supplies and proactively flagging or replacing items that are running low Helping tackle miscellaneous organization projects and household "to-do" items as they arise Family & Pet Support We have three children, ages 6, 8, and 14 . This is not primarily a childcare position, but occasional childcare or family support may be needed, including being home with the children, helping with transportation, or assisting during particularly busy periods. We also have dogs, so candidates must be comfortable with pets. Occasional dog care may include feeding, letting dogs out, walks, or staying with them when the family is away. There may occasionally be opportunities for overnight dog/house sitting , which would be compensated separately at a predetermined overnight rate. Who We're Looking For Our ideal candidate is: Extremely reliable and trustworthy Naturally organized and attentive to detail Proactive and able to identify what needs to be done Comfortable working independently Flexible and willing to shift between different kinds of household tasks Comfortable around children and dogs Respectful of privacy and able to exercise discretion in a family home A clear communicator who can keep us updated without requiring significant management Physically comfortable with normal household tasks, carrying groceries, laundry, light outdoor work, etc. Interested in a stable, year-round position and becoming a trusted part of the household Prior experience as a household manager, family assistant, personal assistant, nanny/family assistant, estate assistant, or in a similar private-home role is preferred. Requirements Reliable personal transportation Valid driver's license and safe driving record Ability to reliably commute to the Chestnut Hill area Ability to pass a background check Ability to pass a drug screening if requested Professional references Authorization to work in the United States Schedule Approximately 15-20 hours per week, year-round . We have some flexibility in how those hours are structured and would ideally establish a consistent weekly schedule while retaining some flexibility for occasional household needs, events, travel preparation, childcare, or pet care. Additional hours may occasionally be available. Compensation Competitive hourly compensation based on experience. Overnight house/pet sitting and certain additional responsibilities will be compensated separately at predetermined rates. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping a household function well and takes satisfaction in leaving spaces more organized, prepared, and peaceful than they found them.
