Jobs › South Yarmouth, MA › Catering & Events Manager Family Table Collaborative Catering & Events Manager South Yarmouth, MA Apply Family Table Collaborative brings people together around food while addressing food insecurity on Cape Cod. Our growing catering & events program provides high-quality food & hospitality while generating revenue that directly supports our mission & programs. We need an organized, client-focused Events Manager who can guide each event from the first inquiry through planning, execution & close-out. Working closely with our culinary team, staff, volunteers & leadership, you?ll bring clear communication, attention to detail & hands-on problem-solving to ensure our events are well planned, appropriately staffed & successfully delivered. What You\'ll Accomplish Build strong client relationships. Serve as the primary contact for catering & event inquiries. Guide clients through their options, meetings, site visits & the full planning process, creating a positive experience that encourages repeat & referral business. Keep every event organized. Take ownership of FTC\'s catering pipeline, event calendar & event documentation, managing each event from inquiry & booking through execution & closeout. Bring people & logistics together. Determine staffing needs & coordinate event staff, bartenders & volunteers. Work with the culinary team, venues & vendors to arrange rentals, equipment, transportation, setup, service & breakdown. Deliver well-run events. Lead or oversee on-site execution for larger, complex or priority events. Troubleshoot problems while maintaining a professional, positive client experience & keeping teams coordinated. Support responsible business growth. Follow up promptly on inquiries & build relationships with local venues & vendors. Ensure pricing accurately reflects food, staffing, rentals, management fees & other applicable charges. Maintain high standards. Uphold FTC\'s expectations for hospitality, food safety, responsible alcohol service & professionalism. Stay aware of applicable food-service, catering & alcohol-service requirements, & maintain appropriate event permit & compliance documentation. What We\'re Looking For Organization & follow-through. You can manage multiple events, deadlines & changing priorities without losing track of the details. You bring strong project-management & time-management skills. Communication & client service. You communicate clearly in writing & conversation, enjoy working with people & keep clients informed throughout the planning process. Collaboration & coordination. You work effectively with culinary teams, staff, volunteers, vendors, clients & leadership, helping everyone understand what is needed for a successful event. Calm, practical problem-solving. You remain solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment, exercise sound professional judgment & are comfortable taking a hands-on approach when challenges arise. Attention to detail. You are careful & accurate with event documentation, pricing, staffing & logistics, recognizing how these details shape both the client experience & event operations. Comfort with technology. You are comfortable using Google Workspace & event-management, invoicing or project-management systems.
Relevant experience:
Three or more years in catering, hospitality, event planning, venue management or a related field are preferred. Experience coordinating catered events, weddings, corporate events, nonprofit events or private functions is strongly preferred. Safety knowledge & certifications: Knowledge of Massachusetts food-service & alcohol-service requirements is preferred. TIPS & ServSafe certifications are preferred; willingness to obtain both upon hire is required. Location & transportation: You must live on Cape Cod or relocate before your start date & have a valid driver\'s license & reliable transportation for travel to event locations as required. Schedule & work environment: This full-time, year-round role has a flexible schedule based on FTC?s catering & event calendar.
