Potential path to a full-time salaried management position About Cornerstone Grill & Loft Cornerstone Grill & Loft is one of the premier restaurant, sports bar, nightlife, and private event destinations in the DMV. Located in the heart of College Park, just steps from the University of Maryland, we host everything from game days and private events to live entertainment and nightlife. We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Shift Manager to join our leadership team and help oversee daily operations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading people, and is looking to grow their career in hospitality management. The Opportunity As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing restaurant operations during assigned shifts, including both front-of-house and back-of-house teams. You will play a key role in maintaining service standards, supporting staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and helping drive the overall success of the business. For the right candidate, this position can grow into a full-time salaried management role based on performance, leadership ability, reliability, and business needs. Responsibilities Oversee daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts Lead and support front-of-house and back-of-house staff Manage servers, bartenders, hosts, food runners, kitchen staff, and support personnel Ensure exceptional guest service and address guest concerns professionally Maintain company standards for service, cleanliness, food quality, and hospitality Assist with opening, closing, and shift transition procedures Monitor labor, staffing levels, and operational efficiency Enforce company policies, alcohol service standards, and safety procedures Communicate effectively with ownership, management, and staff Support private events, game days, special promotions, and high-volume service periods Lead by example and help foster a positive, accountable team culture Qualifications Previous restaurant, bar, nightclub, or hospitality management experience preferred Experience as a shift lead, supervisor, assistant manager, lead bartender, or lead server is strongly preferred Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment Strong guest service mindset Reliable, professional, and team-oriented Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events High-volume restaurant or bar experience is a major plus What We Offer Competitive pay: $22
