Job Description
Canal View Houghton County is looking for a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to join our teams' mission and believe in our core values! Canal View Houghton County's Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facilities food service department including, but not limited to: developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day to day operations for the kitchen and kitchen staff. Canal View Houghton County's Certified Dietary Manager will: Ensure strict compliance with state and federal health care regulations governing food preparation, serving, and building maintenance for long term care dining facilities. Develop cooking assignments for various members of your staff and oversee their work while ensuring that food is prepared and served timely and economically. Track and monitor methods for food preparation, portion sizes, and presentation to minimize waste and make sure that residents are presented with quality food. Plan and switch up menus on a regular basis while ensuring that fresh ingredients are utilized during appropriate seasons. Schedule and receive deliveries of food and beverage supplies, ensuring quality, that all contents delivered match the content and quantities on each order form, and that we are within budget for each order. Examine and respond appropriately to complaints from residents regarding food and food service. Perform food preparation, cleaning or serving as needed to confirm that all residents are served promptly. Review financial transactions and monitor payroll and budgetary records to ensure that all expenditures are properly budgeted and authorized. Management of food service employees including: hiring, training, scheduling, payroll, employee relations and performance management Experience with menu planning software, clinical charting, and long-term care facilities state regulations are strongly preferred.
