Job Description

Ready to lead a hotel where guests don't just check in—they settle in? At Staybridge Suites Lansing-Okemos, you'll lead a welcoming extended-stay experience in one of Greater Lansing's most connected communities. Located in vibrant Okemos—just minutes from Michigan State University, East Lansing, major employers, shopping, dining, and outdoor recreation—our hotel is a home base for business travelers, visiting families, university guests, and guests staying awhile. This is your opportunity to make a visible impact every day: energizing a talented team, delighting guests, strengthening the property's reputation, and driving meaningful results. We're looking for a hands-on hospitality leader who knows that great performance starts with a great culture—and that the little details can turn a comfortable stay into a memorable one. Lead With Energy. Create A Place Guests Love To Call Home. As the property's leader, you'll guide all aspects of the hotel while creating an environment where team members feel supported, accountable, recognized, and proud of the work they do. You'll be the person who sets the tone—from a warm lobby welcome to a spotless suite, a quick maintenance response, and a team that genuinely enjoys taking care of people. At Staybridge Suites, hospitality is personal. Our guests may be here for a few nights, a few weeks, or longer—so your leadership will help create the comfortable, community-minded atmosphere that keeps them coming back. What You'll Do Lead all hotel operations, including Guest Services, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and the guest experience from arrival through departure. Inspire, coach, and develop department leaders and their teams to deliver warm, consistent, brand-defining service. Bring the Staybridge Suites extended-stay experience to life by ensuring guests enjoy a clean, comfortable, well-maintained, home-like environment. Maintain exceptional IHG and property standards across every area of the hotel. Drive financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, labor management, productivity, cost control, and smart operational decision-making. Partner with Sales and Marketing to build occupancy, strengthen local relationships, and capture demand from the Greater Lansing, East Lansing, and Okemos markets. Build strong relationships with guests, ownership, brand partners, vendors, and the local community. Be present and engaged—walking the property, listening to guests, recognizing great work, and stepping in wherever needed. Create a positive, collaborative workplace culture rooted in teamwork, accountability, communication, and celebration. Ensure safety, compliance, security, and property standards are upheld at all times. Why This Is More Than A Job Okemos offers the best of both worlds: a welcoming community feel with easy access to the energy of Michigan State University and the Greater Lansing area. From university events and family visits to corporate travel and longer-term project stays, every day brings a fresh mix of guests and opportunities to make a difference. You'll have the autonomy to lead, the support to grow, and the chance to build a team culture that makes people want to stay—guests and associates alike. Lead a trusted extended-stay brand known for helping guests feel at home. Be part of a growing portfolio with room for professional growth and leadership development. Work with a people-first team that values collaboration, recognition, and great hospitality. Make a direct impact on guest loyalty, team engagement, community relationships, and financial success. Enjoy a role where no two days are alike—and your leadership truly matters. What You'll Bring A hands-on, high-energy hospitality leadership style and a genuine passion for creating exceptional guest experiences. Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills with a team-first mindset. Financial and operational expertise, including the ability to manage budgets, labor, forecasting, and expenses while driving results. A sharp eye for quality, cleanliness, service standards, and the details that define a great stay. The confidence to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require. Preferred Experience And Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Eight or more years of General Manager experience preferred, or 10 or more years of progressive hotel management experience. Experience with an IHG brand or extended-stay hotel environment is a plus. CPR, TIPS, and Food Manager certifications are preferred. If you're ready to lead with purpose, build an outstanding team, and create the kind of stay guests remember long after they leave Okemos, we'd love to meet you. Apply today and bring your hospitality leadership to Staybridge Suites Lansing-Okemos.
